The Thena Story
Ratana believes passionately in being an involved mother and following the birth of her two children she sought an opportunity to combine valuable family time with her own independent career doing something she loves.
Growing up in her village in Thailand, Ratana learnt needlework skills from her mother and business from her successful entrepreneur grandmother.
During her secondary school years Ratana grew vegetables for sale in the village market, and from this business flair and entrepreneurial spirit, she knew that being her own boss would allow her to achieve her twin aims.
In 2006 Ratana took over the premises that are now Thena Oxford, the first ladies fashion boutique in Oxford’s historic Covered Market.
Having lived and worked in Oxford for ten years, she drew on her love for glamorous, classical fashion and a keen eye for detail to design her own range of dresses for those special occasions when women want to feel their most glamourous.
Using her needlework skills to perform alterations for that perfect, dazzling fit, Ratana was able to ensure that her customers looked and felt fantastic.
To compliment her dress designs, Ratana also created her own jewellery pieces in crystals and fresh water pearls, these bespoke pieces allowing her customers to wear a totally unique ensemble.
Now into it’s 15th year, Thena is firmly established within both Oxford and the annual event calendar.
Ratana’s reputation for delivering exceptional personal service coupled with her belief that looking fabulous shouldn’t cost a fortune, has spread far and wide, drawing customers from Britain and beyond.
With Thena’s gorgeous accessories now including clutch bags, hand bags, fascinators, scarves and shoes, Ratana can help you create an exquisitely elegant look for any occasion.
